About
Being a wife, mother, and grandmother has been my life’s biggest teacher. I have been challenged in each, stretched to almost breaking, and surprisingly it has been my greatest gift and joy. Nothing could compare to it.
He is my everything, I can do nothing without him. At the age of twenty, homeless, pregnant, and addicted to drugs, I had an encounter with Jesus that changed my life. It is true what is said when one is touched by Jesus, your life is never the same. My life took a complete turn.
We can all agree that life certainly is a journey, with its ups and downs, twists and turns, and many times, needing to come to the end of ourselves to discover our true identity in Christ. My story has not been easy; there have been many heartaches and areas of pain that I have cried out to God, asking him to help me surrender my inability to deal with them so he could heal my brokenness.
He has been working to put the broken pieces of my heart back together one piece at a time. I have struggled with feelings of worthiness, significance, security, and belonging all of my life, yet God so gently has brought me to himself and continues filling me with those core longings.
That said, I can live most days in gratitude and joy rather than in despair. I love life, discovering new things, and pushing myself beyond my limits; trekking in Nepal, doing ministry in the Amazon jungle of Peru, hiking the Grand Canyon, speaking and ministering to women, and going parasailing, but most favorite is spending time with my husband, children, and precious grandchildren. I don’t want to miss loving and being loved. I want to embrace life to the fullest, even with its hardships.
