Wounded Healer
Spirit-Directed Trauma Recovery

Life experiences, challenges, and lessons have been my greatest teacher. For most of my adult life, I had been trying to prove my worth through performance, which never seemed to satisfy the deep longing in my heart to feel significant or feel a sense of belonging. In 2014, after my mother’s passing, the trauma of my past came to the surface, and my journey to healing began. Along with some former psychology education at McMaster University in the early 1990s, I was introduced to Healing Care Ministries founded by Terry Wardle, where I began to study and understand more about the long-term effects of trauma and the unresolved wounds from the past.
That’s when I realized I had many unresolved wounds from my past that needed to be looked at and healed. After attending a five-day seminar on formational Care, I joined a sixteen-week inner healing group to help guide me toward healing the physical, sexual, and emotional abuse I had endured as a child and young adult that had caused deep trauma, resulting in a lot of hurt and dysfunctional behaviors throughout my life, seeking acceptance and approval of others.
As I allowed God to meet me in those wounded areas of my soul, he helped to identify the lies I believed about myself and pointed me to his truths. After years of working through the brokenness of my past, receiving much freedom, and standing more solid in my identity as a child of God, I have felt a deep passion and calling to teach and guide others through their journey of brokenness to healing and freedom in Jesus Christ.

I have recently completed the certification program in Foundations of Formational Prayer from Healing Care Ministries, founded by Terry Wardle.

Through my experiences, learning, and training, I am equipped to work with individuals and groups through foundations of formational prayer, which is a ministry of the Holy Spirit moving through a Christian Care-giver to bring healing and the presence of Jesus Christ into the place of pain and brokenness within a wounded person.

Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
